We are looking for friendly people who'd like to spend a little time each week or every fortnight getting to know a deaf person in the Shropshire area. If you have BSL level 1 or above please get in touch. Full in house befriending training provided.

We are recruiting for a People Photographer to support our team. Volunteer photography is a rewarding way to contribute to a cause you care about while fine-tuning your skills. Working with Signal’s staff, volunteers and the general public you will take high quality photos at events and activities, such as hearing screening sessions, social Deaf groups, fundraising events, Deaf awareness training and British Sign Language courses.
FUNDRAISING RESEARCHER - INTERNATIONAL
Location: Home based
The international team at Signal are looking for a volunteer with some funding research experience to join their team and help them support our partners in sub-Saharan Africa.
If you enjoy looking for a needle in an online haystack and want to put your skills to good use then get in touch. In this role you will complete online funding searches for Signal, recording the results in an easy-to-read document. By giving up a few hours a week you could truly make a difference, all from the comfort of your own home.
We are recruiting for Hearing Screeners to support our team. During the 2020/2021 lockdown, when masks are worn in indoor spaces, many people have become aware of a possible reduction in their hearing. Signal offer hearing screening for businesses and in public spaces. We are looking for volunteers to perform hearing screenings, who are warm and welcoming and put people at ease whilst being an advocate for Signal. You don’t need to have hearing loss yourself for this role, however if you have experienced hearing loss and are happy to talk about it – even better!
SUPPORT GROUP FACILITATORS
Locations: Shrewsbury, Telford, Oswestry, Home-based
Signal’s Tinnitus Support Groups offer people the opportunity to talk about their experience, share tips and hear from expert speakers. We are looking for a dedicated volunteers to set up and lead support groups in Shrewsbury, Telford and Oswestry. We also have an opportunity for a home based volunteer to run our online group. For this role you may have experience of tinnitus yourself or have transferable skills to enable you to lead a support group. Training on how to lead tinnitus support groups will be provided.
