CATRIONA NICHOLLS

UK Programmes Manager

Catriona joined Signal in 2016 and manages the UK team. “During that time, I’ve really come to understand the challenges that people who are Deaf, have hearing loss or experience tinnitus face. That understanding drives me to create positive change for the people we support. I’m so proud of the work that we do at Signal, and the passion and determination we all share for wanting to make a difference.”

MITCHELL PAYNE

International Programmes Manager

Mitchell is our International Programmes Manager. 'Having the opportunity to work with our incredible partners and empower them to do the amazing work they do is a dream come true. I'm enjoying using everything I've learnt from working with hundreds of different charities and spending over a decade in the sector to improve Signal's impact.'

ANNA MACKENZIE

Project Officer

Anna has been a working as Project Officer for Signal since March 2019.  “My role working with the Deaf Community and people living with the effects of hearing loss is extremely fulfilling.  I enjoy the variety that this role brings; it allows me to positively support to the people we’re here for.  I am enthusiastic to be part of the team working for Signal and being involved in making an impact on people’s lives.”

ALLY MCDONALD

International Programmes Officer

Ally joined Signal in April 2020. “I am thrilled to be part of the International team at Signal, where I am able to use my passion and experience in international development to work on our programmes in Uganda, Malawi, Zambia and Tanzania. These projects make a huge difference to the lives of Deaf people and their families and I am very excited to see what impact we can make in the future".

JOANNE ROSE

Outreach Worker

Jo joined Signal in Sept 2008 as Outreach Worker, when the charity was known as Shropshire Christian Association for the Deaf. "I am thrilled to be part of Signal, supporting the Deaf community, as I can empathise with how they feel as I am the same being in their shoes. I am proud to have worked with the Deaf community all these years and may it continue to grow bigger and stronger".

EMMA SAWYER

Finance Officer

Emma joined Signal in June 2020 and supports the team as finance officer. 'It's a real pleasure to use my skills to work with such an engaged and ambitious team. By improving and reviewing Signal's financial and governance processes I hope to help Signal grow and go from strength to strength. I'm proud to be part of an organisation doing such great work'.

Project Officer

Lucy joined Signal in January 2021 as Project Officer. “In joining Signal, I’m excited to bring varied experience to an innovative and impactful organisation. Alongside supporting the incredible work which aims to improve the lives of individuals with tinnitus, I look forward to being part of ongoing growth.”

SWAN STAAR-SLOGROVE

Volunteer Coordinator

Swan joined Signal in January 2021 as Volunteer Coordinator. “I am passionate about supporting communities through volunteering and look forward to help Signal make a change for people who are Deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. Exciting volunteer opportunities are a great way to support Signal’s visions and goals and I am delighted to bring my experience to the dedicated team at this charity.”

VICKY HANDBURY-MADIN

Fundraising and Development

Vicky is currently working alongside Signal to support the team.  “I am excited to use my skills and experience to help support people who are Deaf, have hearing loss and tinnitus in the UK and internationally. Everyone at Signal is driven and focused on achieving the charity's vision and mission and continuing to make a real difference. Signal can only do this because of the generous support the charity receives.”
