It is with regret that, as of Tuesday 17th March, all Shropshire based Signal projects that require face-to-face contact, including the tinnitus groups, hearing loop research, Deaf Lunch Groups, Deaf Awareness Training and British Sign Language courses have been postponed. Our tinnitus groups are postponed until June. Our other projects are postponed until further notice. We will do our best to keep you as up-to-date as possible through our social media channels.
As of Wednesday 18th March, our staff will be working from home. Please send any queries to email@example.com and they will be directed to the appropriate person. We are continuing to ensure our beneficiaries, volunteers and wider community continue to receive support. To do this, we will be:
• Checking in with those who use our services through their preferred means of contact.
• Keeping in touch with volunteers and the people we work with to keep them updated and offer information, support and guidance.
• Continuing to offer the wider community advice, signposting and guidance through our social media channels, email, Facetime and text.
• Individual low-risk staff members will be checking our office telephone for messages and passing these on to the appropriate individuals.
When it comes to Signal’s international projects, our priority is the safety and well-being of our project beneficiaries and in-country partners. Each country has varied in their response to the Covid-19 outbreak, and we are working closely with our partners to find ways in which we can continue supporting the most vulnerable individuals on our programmes. For example, by ensuring Covid-19 health information is accessible to all, mobilizing food aid for those who are isolated, and finding ways to communicate remotely such as through local radio and TV. We will continue to monitor and react to the situation as it unfolds, taking the advice of our partners and following local government guidelines.
We hope you all stay well, and we will do our best to continue to offer support during this uncertain time. With best wishes from all staff and trustees at Signal.
