Signal partners with Shropshire Council to provide Deaf BSL Support

Signal Charity is working with Shropshire Council to ensure the Deaf British Sign Language Community have access to essential food and medicine during this emergency.

Signal are providing a “link” between Deaf individuals and the Council and Community Support Groups to communicate when there is a need, and what that need is. Over the past few weeks, Signal has uncovered a number of Deaf people who are self-isolating or shielding on recommendation by the government that are seeking help with shopping and the collection of medication.

This project will enable Profoundly Deaf British Sign Language users to have equal access to the community support on offer, in the same way as their hearing peers.
