Service Description

Who should attend: Our 6-week taster course is aimed at anyone who is wanting to learn the basics of BSL. The course is engaging, informative and most of all fun. Overview: Our teacher Jo, who is Deaf herself, will guide you through the essentials of BSL. Throughout the 6 weeks you will learn how to communicate with someone who uses sign language as their preferred method of communication. Topics Covered: • Learn how to fingerspell the alphabet • Discover how to meet and greet people • Know your numbers • How to identify members of the family and other everyday vocabulary • Find out the importance of facial expressions and body language whilst using the language
