Anna and Jo recently provided a virtual 30-minute #DeafAwareness Training workshop to a local branch of West Bromwich Building Society.
The interactive session highlighted some of the everyday issues faced by people who are deaf, have a hearing loss or experience tinnitus. For example, just a trip to their local bank some people may face barriers to communication that make their lives more difficult.
The staff enjoyed learning the British Sign Language alphabet fingerspelling, found overall the workshop very useful and gave them skills to assess their own behaviour
to provide their customers the best experience when coming the branch. “the information provided was invaluable and will certainly support us with providing a great experience for all our customers”
